At Twin Bridge Farm we grow several varieties of gourmet mushrooms. King Oysters area great vegetarian substitute for protein. Flavor is mild and elegant, yet savory. Can be grilled, steamed or sautéed.
Shiitake's are very popular with a distinct slight smoky flavor. It has a good shelf life that adapts well with many dishes like soup, stir-fry and risotto.
Cinnamon Caps are a beautiful clustered mushroom with nutty flavor and a crunchy texture. A versatile option to button mushrooms.
Enoki is a little long stemmed mushroom. They can be eaten raw or cooked and are very popular in Asian cuisine. We love them sautéed with garlic and in soup recipes.
Nursery and Orchard
We propagate almost every tree and plant on our property. Our 40 acres has many special varieties. Here's just a little sample: Magnolia, GInko Biloba, Japanese Maple, Birch, Black Walnut and Mulberry.
An apple orchard will cover approximately 11 areas of our farm. We're planting heirloom apples that will be ready in a couple seasons.
Bringing our wine history to Tennessee, we have 2 acres of wine grapevines on the way. Cabernet, Merlot and Cab Franc will be coming in the next few years. Twin Bridge Wine will be just around the corner!
A new glass greenhouse is where we grow our tomatoes. We grow Roma's and pear tomatoes. Since there is 12 feet ceiling height in the greenhouse, we use varieties that climb. One plant can be 10 to 12' and produce over 20 pounds of tomatoes.
In the summer we plant a traditional garden. You'll find Brussel sprouts, garlic and sweet potatoes along with a variety of herbs and veggies.
Tobacco is a popular crop in Tennessee so we decided to give it a try. We've planted just enough to make a few cigars. If they don't turn out, no worries....we will add them to the compost pile!
We have an 1800 square foot cottage on the farm available for guests. It's a 2 bedroom 1 bath totally renovated space. The views of the woods and stream are great!
Kentucky Lake is 5 minutes away with great fishing and boating. Loretta Lynn's Ranch is within 20 miles and Nashville is just over an hour. If you're looking for some rest and relaxation, this is the place for you.
